Much like Australia's land animals having evolved differently compared to the rest of the world's population, I found myself in a land called Greece with specially evolved marine life. In a holding tank that looked like it was built during the Roman times, I would jump from the entrance to a cement island in the tank. On tour given by some of the doctors, I would visit this place and occasionally see the fish. On one of these visits, a shark had come up that looked like it had a tiger's claws for teeth and began swimming around the platform. The doctor continued his speaking and did not notice the fish's circling. Slowly the fish was increasing the water's surface area and gaining ground on the island. I noticed this and became scared. I quickly jumped and got out of the area.

You know those wild and crazy dreams you have in the middle of the night? They always seem that way, right? For example, you’ve just experienced one and return to reality upon waking up. Your first reaction is to think it truly was wild and/or crazy after seeing everything remains how you left it. But, if you immediately record the dream in writing, you may not find them to be so totally wild and crazy after all. This act can be highly insightful, it can reinforce factual events that have already occurred, and it can serve as a source for simple story-telling.

A dream is not so wild when it apprehends intuition through insight. As a case in point, being scared of a mosquito can be factual but thinking about why it’s scary can be helpful against such silly reactions. Insight can show those bugs are ridiculous in so many ways that it’s almost comical. However, the dream happened whether one likes it or not so only a better knowledge of one’s self can be formed from such a review. You may find yourself cowering in the face of fear only to see a much better outcome if that fear had not overcome you. It’s not going to seem so crazy when it helps by giving insight to situations.

Writing it down doesn’t make it seem so wild and crazy after all. By taming the wild and rerouting the crazy, great story-telling comes about, real events in your life can be better remembered and the insight given is priceless.

Somebody asked me why I didn't like Apple and it clicked. The mindset of the entire company.
I was in an Apple store with a broken iPod. The manager of the store, ya know, the person that has worked there long & well enough to represent the company in the best light? The manager says to me: "You actually took the time to read the warranty?"
What? I take pride in knowing what's happening. Being ruled by Apple is where it's at. I like being served by the companies I buy from. That doesn't include, well...Apple.

PS Open source is where it's going. Google "open source" before you buy a kind of software. Any kind.

Necessary Liberal, Not Evil

I've always had trouble understanding why liberals exist so here, I'm giving it a shot.
Allow me to begin by using basketball.
If I can make a shot from a particular spot on the court, I'm not going to change anything about that shot because it's simple and it's complete. I'm gonna call that conservative.
Now, let's say another spot is giving me trouble. In the spirit of getting it right, I'm gonna try something outlandish or new to make the shot! That is what I'm calling liberal. Obviously using the conservative shot on the tricky spot will not work.
Some of you are calling for lib-o-cide and that's criminal.
A new way of thinking about any recent craziness and anything else conservatives are unhappy with is to just let the liberals implode. Too-far libs that continue trying failed procedure are rightfully branded insane and the ones that don't are better for the cause.
I'm a conservative and laziness gets the better of me.

An interesting website, Folk Art From The Harbor, wants me to submit stencils, I think. I think I win something or something but the girl running the show will be reading this so in the interest of getting it over with, here's my stencil!

Drum & Bass / Drum'n'Bass / DnB - Best of Pirat 6 2008

In the world there is a collection of music named Pirat Station 6 2008. It's like 10 hours.
To illustrate how much I have listened to it, I've driven across the US two times since it's release. Those trips aren't the only times I've gotten in a car plus I don't have to be driving to be listening to my favorite.
For anybody that doesn't know, Drum and Bass music, aka jungle, is electronic breakbeat dance music using heavy sub-bass lines. The beats per minute are 165-185 whereas R&B or Rock'n'Roll are around 100.

To make a long story short, I've cut this monster down from 10 hours to 2. My guess is Pirat Station picks the DJ's and the DJ's pick the music. My clippings may run into another seeminlgly seemlessly; great. If not, just remember this is the cream of the 2008 crop.

KFC's Two Weeks of Free Food

From 6:00p to 6:40p, I waited for KFC's newest promotion, "Unthink KFC." I should also mention over an hour of clammering through the clogged servers to print the coupon. You have to print the coupon. Software that is "required" to print the daggum'd note crashed my browser until I had to use a different computer altogether. All of it for some grilled chicken instead of fried because it is free. But that's not the point.
From Cinco De Mayo through the 19th of May, KFC will be accepting 2-piece grilled chicken along with 2 sides and a biscuit meal coupons ALL 15 DAYS, minus Mother's. My mother is a school teacher and has no doubt some of the children will have a steady diet of chicken for the next two weeks. Here it is, day 2, and the restaurant I visited is already choosing my sides due to lack of enough. Does the company really know what they're getting into? Yes, there is a 4-coupon limit, & yes Oprah is involved, but come on. For some people, when free food appears, they see like cartoons with money signs & chicken legs blazing through their eyes. They're printing them like crazy through midnight. True, every coupon has a different number on it but the way that store was cookin', I doubt photocopies will be spotted. Maybe they don't care about that. Maybe they'll bust abusers after the 2 weeks. Maybe they have enough food.
I hesitate to point out any break an employee may receive from an unhappy customer for two reasons: 1. there is always the rude and, 2. productivity is stifling!
I would give you my review of the new meal, but give me a break. Go try it yourself!

Luck does not exist. I don't expect you to take me at my word. You don't know me.

What about the money the cashier miscounted I received in greater amounts than necessary? What about the movie I stumbled upon that I had always wanted to see I saw from the beginning that day? What about lotto winners, good sir?

In one sense, finding a quarter is a matter of luck because it changed your course of life at that moment. But should something exist if we cannot manipulate it to our favor? Does anyone quit schooling or their job to hunt for lucky quarters instead? Probably.

Lottery winners notoriously have terrible lives afterward. This is bad luck. Without learning or work involving their accumulation of gold, unseen evils lust for a choke hold. Luck is something we all should take with a grain of salt. Good luck exists only in the aftermath of the life-changing event. Build upon it, celebrate it; we just don't expect it because we can't. Try and change that prescription and you've signed the dotted line for failure.

Luck won't always come in the form of money. Work to learn to recognize it and form it. Not only is luck something unreal, but something beautiful. There is good luck and there is bad luck including two sides to every coin - for now. Good luck in throwing luck to the birds.

Squelching Those Crazies

I begin with this theory: attention grabbing by acting out is mostly extremists.
The first massive media was the newspaper. Next came radio, and then television. I know you know this. So when television displayed you could be seen so much more vividly than the other mediums, rampancy ensued. We all know TV & news media gradually worked and became owned by these people, and that's no theory.

Enter internet. Do I have your attention yet? Goodbye newspapers. Television, you have no ears. I might claim water boarding torture if I went through it. I would have a much easier time believing myself. But that will never happen because I'm not in a war against non-believers. Jihadists are a weak-minded people because they will not accept anybody else's way of life. Believers of acceptance use the jihadist's weak mind against itself. This insures life & limb.

Arnold from the Predator movies with Nintendo's NES title "Contra," along with Reece from "Terminator" compared to some arcade game character named Snake. The name of that game is a mystery to me.
